When Using Your Phone, Be Cautious Of Bikes, Cars, And Magitek Armor

As part of a joint campaign with the Shinjuku police department to warn pedestrians of the dangers of inattentiveness when using smartphones, the Final Fantasy XIV dev team has put together a pair of PSAs to be aired on the screens overlooking Shinjuku's famous "scramble" crossings.
The PSAs have mascot and spokeschocobo Alpha chastising a feckless Lalafell dragoon as he winds up in trouble throughout Eorzea due to being to engrossed in his smartphone.

Zardoz is right. I have sat upstairs in the big Shibuya branch of Starbucks looking down on that crossing. Walnut Creek, CA also has a scramble crossing, but with 1% as many people, and a Cheesecake Factory

w0mbat you made me laugh, you are right though. I've sat at both of these intersections, and looking down from the Starbucks is definitely more interesting than looking across from the fountain in front of the Cheesecake factory.
(These are not the screens the press release is talking about, here is one of the ones in Shinjuku where it will be played.)
