Bloody; bowed

Post-kill, two thirsty lions encounter a brazen turtle. (SLYT).

From the video description: The one-of-a-kind sighting was captured by 30-year-old safari guide, Reggi Barreto, while on safari with a private guest near the Sand River in the MalaMala Private Game Reserve, Greater Kruger Park: “Both lions drank their fill despite the interruptions from the terrapin and then headed back closer to the zebra foal to lay down, as it was a very humid day. It was an incredibly rare sighting for me to film – watching the terrapin approach the lions that had blood on their chins from the zebra. It seems as though the terrapin was actually more interested in getting some of that blood, as opposed to ‘chasing the lions away’.”

The slain zebra referenced in the quote is not shown in this video, but some wildlife clips on this "Kruger Sightings" YouTube channel (travel company advertising) do contain graphic footage.

Those turtles like to eat ticks off of large animals, like hippos.

Adolescent bears visit my friend at work. yt

I was listening to a podcast a while back about how building codes in some places mandate handles rather than doorknobs for accessibility reasons while in other places doorknobs were required for reasons that should be obvious seconds into this video.

My cat was not frands with my turtle. My turtle did not know this, and would follow the cat around for hours.

Bap! Bapbapbapbap!

Bap has no effect!

handles rather than doorknobs

Heh heh- the cubs can turn the tiny knob on my kitchen storm door- I thought it was my roommate coming in until I turned around. I rarely vid them cuz when the cool stuff happens we are really close and I think it foolish to point things at them.

Cute, but it can't compete with the video I saw earlier today of the idiot who found a wandering bear in the woods and decided to kick it.

Kruger seems to be sort of place where this sort of dramatic unexpected turnabout happens all the time. I went looking for the video from this (dead link, alas,) but found [CW: animal injuries] this and this and this and this first. Suffice it to say the king of beasts often comes out second best.

I saw on Connected where fish low on the food chain are being made bolder by antidepressants in their water. Similar experiment here. (Pretty sure it’s not what’s happening in the video, but still.)

I think he was mad they were disturbing the surface of his pond. The nips were like, I'll stop that annoying tongue!

This little girl lives on our farm. She is five feet away from me and can hop that fence. I don't eat in front of her.

What I really wish I had pics of was the time she lost posterior fur to a swan.
