Lizzo Special Interview

Lizzo's new album Special comes out tomorrow, and she sat down yesterday for a 40 minute interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe about where she is in life and the release of her album and a lot of other things. Lizzo is always amazing, but this interview felt really electric to me.
I love Lizzo and also admire her forbearance in not ripping the guy's head off when he was tossing that borrowed flute around like a complete @$$hole. Also that little bit of Mozart she played was by Bach, not that anyone will care. Went looking for the rest of Special (the track) and wow, this song will save lives.

Damn fun album! Hadn’t heard of her until this post but am enjoying this a lot. Got it lit up on the Atmos hi fi rig in the living room. Great post!

Also recommend going back further in her catalog. Much of this video was filmed in St. Paul the day marriage equality was legalized in Minnesota.

I saw her on TikTok the other day talking about how they "always rent me these damn marching band flutes" and I love how she's always slagging on closed hole flutes. (I played a closed hole flute in jr high and high school.)

Finally listening to the whole album, and WOW! I'm glad she's reembracing her rap roots because she's clever with a rhyme in a way I like. Also, wow, the whole vibe of this is amazing.
Going back to "prior tracks you should know"... I think that Phone is totally hilarious.
