These are amazing - my kid and I have been exploring them and being fascinated and (for me) creeped out in an awe-filled way.

Wow that's pretty amazing, I got lost in those photos, there's a spider one in there that gave me the heebie jeebies. They're all amazing though.

Yay! I have a weird, cool, nerd friend who is absolutely obsessed with slime molds and one of her pictures was fifth this year. She is so excited; please go admire that one specifically (she’s also a cool Instagram follow if you like tiny strange things: @marin_mushrooms).

the slime mold picture seems like a tiny real life Doctor Seuss tree only much more beautiful.

btw I googled image stacking which I kept seeing and it's combining multiple pictures taken of the same object but with different parts in focus so the whole thing becomes beautifully detailed.
