And you never will surrender / To a narrow view of gender

An upbeat poppy song by Grace Petrie celebrating gender non-conformity, with a great music video to go with it.

"You will figure out what's yours
And that it's got
Nothing to do with fitting neatly in a box
That was constructed to make it seem
Like people come in just two teams
And anything that's in between ain't good enough
And you will love
And you'll be loved"

This is really good. Thanks. Just shared it with my genderfluid 12yr old.

A great song from a great songwriter. Her version of Richard Thompson's Beeswing is very good too.

When I saw Petrie had covered The Pogues' Fairytale of New York, I was immediately curious about how she'd handle the song's F-word issue. Her solution is ingenious and makes me smile every time I hear it.

[Who's that?]
