Twenty-seven years later, Kirsten Bakis is publishing her second novel: King Nyx.

Oft mentioned on Metafilter, I think many mefites will be happy to hear this news.

Oh my gosh I stumbled across Lives of the Monster Dogs years ago and still think about it every once in a while. Thank you for this!

So that's what happened to her! I never met anybody else who read the book--I wouldn't have seen it, except someone had put it prominently on the new arrivals shelf at the library way back when--so it has always had this strange ephemeral quality to me, like a book you dreamed of reading, one that you wouldn't be able to explain to someone. So this is very exciting!

Hit buy it now on the book very quickly. Talking about Lives of Monster Dogs. Had never heard of it before but it sounds really intriguing.

I read Lives of the Monster Dogs after seeing it recommended here and I've just preordered the new one! Looking forward to not being behind the curve on this one

Ah, casting my mind back to the days I could actually read substantial books. Where is my attention span of yesteryear?

That was an awesome book. Recommended especially if you miss Angela Carter.
