The VA refused to compensate me for my service related iron burns. posted by buzzman at 8:51 PM on December 12, 2004
FYI, to the original poster, I was actually going to post this last week, but found it by searching for ironing (which otherwise is rarely discussed by the Mefi readers). posted by drezdn at 9:20 PM on December 12, 2004
For what it's worth, this thread got more comments than the old one. posted by DrJohnEvans at 10:06 PM on December 12, 2004
Believe it or not, "Extreme Ironing" is the answer to a new Trivial Pursuit question. posted by Iason at 3:53 AM on December 13, 2004
This is a fun idea - shame that it's a marketing initiative for irons manufacturer Rowenta.
That said, I was diving last year at Poseidon Divers in Dahab, Egypt. One of the extreme ironers was a female technical diver who purported to 'iron' deep underwater the week before I arrived. Anything that siphons money into adventure sports like tech diving and mountaineering can only be a good thing! posted by dmt at 6:07 AM on December 13, 2004
Werid. I searched for both "extreme ironing" and "ironing" since day one and nothing came up. Damn. posted by qDot at 7:25 AM on December 13, 2004
dmt, I followed the posted link just to investigate underwater ironing after you mentioned it. (Sadly, the shirts are not effectively ironed in the process.) posted by Faint of Butt at 8:27 AM on December 13, 2004
