I actually found this site pretty damn interesting. A well written balanced look at the pro's and con's of a notorious drug.

seriously though, I have noticed coke making a huge comeback in the college scene recently, probably due to all things 80's being cool again. (how did that happen?) I never found much use for it myself.

Actually, the thing that amazes me most about this website is that it has been around for so long. I think I can recalling stumbling across it in 1995/1996. The Wayback has it from that archive's inception, in 1998. it's apparently the work of David Pearce, of Sussex in the UK. Obviously a prescient webby kind of guy, he had a blog back in 1996, as part of the still extant Hedonistic Imperative website. Very mid-90s, it's liberally sprinkled with RU Sirius quotes and "post humanity" catchphrases. Pearce also authored the "Zero Ontology" manifesto that I remember from back then - it was promiscuously linked by all the usual suspects. Pearce also maintains a more modern, minimalist slimmed-down website.

Forget about 80s nostalgia, the web is so old now that we can get nostalgic about different design and cultural eras!

Yeah, coke has gotten enormous again. I have no idea why... Been there, done that, didn't feel like doing the equivalent of snorting a few shredded $50 bills every night.

good site, lots of info... particularly compelling was the reprint of the biz 2.0 article about colombian drug gangs and their IT infrastructure. all the principles of global corporate business apply, except "no scruples and endless budget" The bit about data-mining phone logs to ferret out informants was chilling.
