To counter all the hype and misinformation about sharks killing people, and to highlight the plight that sharks as a species are currently suffering, I can do nothing better than to suggest you watch Sharkwater, an excellent documentary (minus the narrator's annoying Keanu Reaves voice) which apparently hasn't made it to the USA yet. posted by furtive at 9:43 PM on June 2, 2007 [1 favorite]

Saw JAWS again recently. Great movie. A little dated due to fashions and things, but not too terribly bad. Of course, sharks aren't the only thing to remember come beach season, between Memorial Day and Labor Day. posted by ZachsMind at 10:39 PM on June 2, 2007

I was fascinated by sharks when I was young. Still am to an extent. Great link! posted by SisterHavana at 11:25 AM on June 3, 2007
I remember one surfer or kayaker's account of his shark attack which read,
"I was having trouble seeing out of one eye. Then I realized, my head is in the shark's mouth." posted by atchafalaya at 6:02 AM on June 4, 2007
