Jayisgames inexplicably called this "like tangrams". It's basically Traffic + Pentominos. (Not to belittle it--it's pretty cool. Just sayin'.) posted by DU at 7:07 AM on June 29, 2007

I know less about games than you, but I thought it was best summed up as "manual Tetris". posted by humblepigeon at 7:11 AM on June 29, 2007
I wish people wouldn't do pre-emptive self-call outs in fpps, it junks up the front page. posted by empath at 7:15 AM on June 29, 2007 [1 favorite has favorites]

Pentominos is manual tetris. Actually, manual quintris, but whatev. Traffic is a game of moving things in a certain order to free a trapped object. posted by DU at 7:16 AM on June 29, 2007
nobody owns links, so they can't really be stolen. posted by quonsar at 7:39 AM on June 29, 2007

@quonsar: you are totally wrong. I, for example, actually own all links beginning with "t". In 1984 I bought the rights to all hyperlinks beginning with the letter "t" for $793, and I now profit madly. posted by lastobelus at 8:00 AM on June 29, 2007
Do you also own links that don't load?
Because then maybe I should be complaining to you instead of the original poster. . .
. . . I shouldn't play a game at work anyway. And besides, I can go play REAL. REGULAR. TETRIS. in the bathroom on my phone. posted by Esoquo at 8:12 AM on June 29, 2007
I had a plastic version of this when I was a kid back in the 70s. It had a red tray and yellow pieces, and it was made by Spears. I was completely addicted to it. posted by carter at 8:26 AM on June 29, 2007
Got to level 13 and gave up.... should probably get back to work. Cool idea though. posted by Zephyrial at 8:31 AM on June 29, 2007
@quonsar is atquonsar, a clever anagram of Squat Roan, a short, brown horse, which is, in turn an anagram of Sworn Throb Heros. Lastobelus is apparently trying to signal some sort of sexual suicide pact with quonsar. Outed! posted by The Bellman at 8:39 AM on June 29, 2007
I see that @ used like that all the time on Digg, which makes sense since diggers always seem to be talking at one another rather than to one another. posted by JaredSeth at 8:58 AM on June 29, 2007

I liked it. Were I not supposed to be writing training materials, I would probably have played it for a lot longer. posted by quin at 10:56 AM on June 29, 2007
I'm glad someone is reading digg for me. Now all I have to get is a VCR and an Electric Monk. posted by Bovine Love at 11:26 AM on June 29, 2007

When it first opened, i thought it was just a really small and bad version of tetris. Like .... hey, I lost already! posted by muddylemon at 12:11 PM on June 29, 2007
This is really easy up until about level 20. I'm on 23 now. No, you can't rotate the pieces. You have to make them fit in the yellow space.
Nice time-waster, and not nearly as frustrating as Bloxorz was! posted by misha at 12:16 PM on June 29, 2007
