Still though, that was the best-ever name for a US military operation: Operation Just Cause.
Operation Just Cause We Felt Like It.
Operation Just Cause We wanted to get over Vietnam Syndrome and Saddam hasn't invaded Kuwait yet.

This, momentarily at least, serves as a reminder what a dismal fucking president the first George Bush was. I know he's FDR in comparison to his son, but I get a bit tired of people lionizing this jerk "Just Cause" he's not as retarded as his son.

Just musing, but the world has changed a lot in the ~17 years Noriega has been in prison. Nice article, and the tidbit about his apartment-style prison cell was interesting.

Really too bad about Pinochet biting it last year. Death squads, torture, kidnapping, compliance with US policy, an in with Chicago-educated supply side economists, I mean, other than the language thing, he'd have been ideal.
