Ohhh, I get it, Brownpau!
You're an idiot!!!
Disclaimer: Name-calling is purely in fun, and no offense should be taken. The above comment was the first thing that came to mind, and is based on an exchange in an episode of Rocko's Modern Life, wherein a geeky customer in a comic book store (holding a stack of fairy-themed comics) is talking to another equally geeky customer and says "Fairies are the most beautiful beings in the world, and if you fall in love with a fairy you can never love anyone else again!" The other customer looks at him in awe and replies "Wowwww!!!! You're an idiot!" I wish I could find the video on YouTube because you all would love it, it's so funny, really, but yeah, a dog on a pony, is that the sequel to snakes on a plane see this is what happens when there is no image tag. posted by The Deej at 5:48 AM on February 8, 2008 [4 favorites has favorites]
You really could have done a much better job of defining this in greater detail in the "more inside" section. And your tags - could have been much more descriptive here too.
Otherwise this is a fantastic post. posted by allkindsoftime at 6:03 AM on February 8, 2008

Should be Dogs Plus Pony.
The truly amazing part is the legless blue poodle barking on top of the pony's head. posted by weapons-grade pandemonium at 8:21 AM on February 8, 2008

I suggest that the "wtf" tag is extended to include the word "brownpau"... posted by benzo8 at 8:39 AM on February 8, 2008
Oh, brownpau. I'm so disappointed. Unless the "calculated to amaze" part is where we are amazed that it is, in fact, nothing more than, yes, a dog. On a pony. posted by misha at 8:54 AM on February 8, 2008
I think the key thing here is that there's a dog and that the dog is on a pony. posted by cortex at 9:23 AM on February 8, 2008
The only amazing thing here is that this post is still alive. I've seen far better posts get eliminated practically before the pixels were dry. I mean...wtf? posted by Thorzdad at 9:29 AM on February 8, 2008

Ironyfilter: It's a dog and pony show! posted by kozad at 9:43 AM on February 8, 2008
Jesus, people, we need one of these posts once in a while. No one has any question about brownpau's motives or general good sense, so why not just enjoy the very simple post? posted by OmieWise at 9:48 AM on February 8, 2008
I think people are just upset because the dog on the pony only gives us questions, not answers.
And yeah. It's been a long week. Smiling at something overtly silly every now and then is probably a good thing, anyway. Also: the dog? It's standing right on top of the dang pony. See diagram:
They did the calculations, and the answer was #A1FB9E, with a remainder of dog over pony. This is SCIENCE FACT! posted by team lowkey at 10:03 AM on February 8, 2008

Sometimes, the laughter just kind of seems to be towards something but really has no direction or intent (and that's just fine). posted by Burhanistan at 10:23 AM on February 8, 2008

Interesting. At the moment, this thread is the number two google hit for "dog on a pony". And the number one hit for "pony on a dog". Hmmm. . . posted by flotson at 4:03 PM on February 8, 2008
