This auction at eBay

This auction at eBay has to be one of the more entertaining after effects of the dotcom meltdown. Personally, the last suggestion in the ad would be my preferred usage of the item for sale...

My previous company's new CEO held a ceremony to remove the ".com" from the large sign on their lobby wall. It was also excised from all the logos, literature, and website. It was very symbolic, kind of cathartic for some who had rightly believed that the previous CEO should not have jumped on the dot com bandwagon. The company was around log before then and shouldn't have tried to change their image by adding those silly letters.

I'm not sure what is scarier, the fact that these are up for auction... or that the current bid as of right right now is $104.52 with 8 bids in.

Who is paying over $100 for a period and 3 letters?

Yes. Logs are good. I love the taste of a fine Lincoln Log.

This reminds me of the wooden 'etc.' signs that so many had on their living room walls in the 70s, including mine and my parents'. A wall painted burnt orange.
