sorry, tell me again how its possible to loose 3,000 odd documents then repeat the same impossible feat again, with such an involved case
that's the last you'll hear from me on this subject .... :-)

Perhaps we need to bring back the special prosecutor statute to investigate Louis Freeh, cause the wackjobs are getting tons of ammunition.

i'm starting to think that McVeigh is really crazy, like over the cukoos nest, and all this denying of a second gunman in the face of mounting evidence is his suicidal attempt at achieving (in his mind) Martydom.

DAMN! The old shadow government is showing it's age!! Mystery files are to come AFTER the execution not before.

Could we please correctly write "lose" instead of "loose" and "its" instead of "it's"? Thank you.

This is allowing McViegh to be a superstar, a master of mystery, the Alan-Greenspan like dark wizard who has the nation holding their breath. And don't think for a moment he doesn't relish it. What an outrage.

brucec, how does the FBI finding a second batch of McVeigh documents translate in your mind to "allowing McViegh to be a superstar, a master of mystery, the Alan-Greenspan like dark wizard?"

I'm really interested in finding out how you managed to leap from the FBI's mind-boggling bungling (if it really was unintentional) to that fantastically hyperbolic statement.

lia,

Hyperbole? You tell me. The media is parked outside the Terre Haute prison and McVeigh's lawyers offices awaiting his decision. Media coverage on McVeigh equals if not exceeds suspense over today's rate cuts.

Because of the FBI foul-up, now a double foul up, McVeigh gets to decide whether or not he pursues a trial or other legal moves that could delay the trial, or whether to waive. In his hands, not the FBI, nor Aschroft, or the victims is whether or not the execution happens on time or whether it is delayed.

(And everyone knows Greenspan is a dark wizard.)

it shouldn't be in the victim's (or their families') hands. afterall, his execution is supposed to satisfy the call for justice, whether it happens today, a month from now, or twenty years from now. to execute him because the victims and their families are crying for it isn't justice, it's vengeance. but this is a topic for another thread.

don't blame the FBI (and its screw ups) for McVeigh's superstardom. news is only news because someone chooses to report it, and people only achieve superstardom because reporters choose to focus so much attention on that person. if journalists and news anchors stopped "updating" us every half hour when they don't actually have anything new to report, this wouldn't be as big as it is.

Well, its going to be one long, slow train wreck of a month (at least) with all of this.

One thing though, McVeigh sent a letter to the Houston Chronicle that will hamper the chance of appeals regardless of this bungle. The letter was sent

An AP article about the same issue.

Ummm... am I the only one totally bewildered by what PatMcGroin said? I keep trying to see how it's relevant to this thread, but I can't.

Apparently he got knocked off of MeFi (for what reason, I don't know). So he signed up under a different uid and is posting that rant to every discussion.

However, I am so very happy to know that troll=gay. I was losing quite a bit of sleep wrestling with my confusion over that one.
