Whoa baby, you’re driving my crazy
I said baby, you’re driving my crazy
The way you turn me on
Then you shut me down
Well, tell me baby
Am I just your clown
Psycho!!
Whoa baby, you’re driving my crazy
I said i’m losing my mind
You treat me so unkind
Psycho!!
Whoa baby, you’re driving my crazy
I’m going out of my head
Now i wish i was dead
Psycho!!
Whoa baby, you’re driving my crazy
I’m going out of my head
Now i wish i was dead
This is simply indecent, this sort of yoohaw yabber jabber.
Some concerned citizens need to get together and nip this sort of thing in the bud before it all gets out of hand, running rampant throughout our culture, bringing down the harsh fist of god's ruination upon our delicate craniums, before it is to late. I SAY TOO LATE!
Look at how that young woman shakes her hair around, and how she swings her . . . she swings her . . .
BOOTY!
I mean to say her young and innocent body, with the serpent of iniquity for her moment of weakness, and then-

I could swear I've seen the original movie that clip is taken from... but I cannot place where or when, other than it was likely within the past 2 years.
...male gaze...objectification...visual prominence of antiquated reel-to-reel sonic technology as related to music branding...experience as spectacle...inadequacy of male physical response vis-a-vis eroticism of female sexual expression...
Hey, all of y'all ex-Madonna academic postmodern deconstructionists: here's a minor week-long project for you. Let us know how it goes. posted by kozad at 6:30 PM on January 27, 2010 [3 favorites]

Wow, it's like, old people were all sexual!
Damned kids. Every generation has to make this big discovery and it just gets more tiresome every time. You'd think we might pass along some of that knowledge, inter-generationally, just to save our species some fucking time. But no. Every ten years, almost like clockwork. posted by Civil_Disobedient at 9:51 PM on January 27, 2010 [1 favorite]
Whatever you say googly, I didn't pay any attention to Mamie Van Doren either. posted by dougzilla at 10:17 PM on January 27, 2010

I could swear I've seen the original movie that clip is taken from...
One of these?
No... None of those look like the correct movie.
It had some plot involving some kind of mind-control being used on young people, either just females, or maybe some guys, too. It might have been hypnosis, or maybe drugs... The scene in question, if I remember correctly, was either the Hero or Unsuspecting Random Guy encountering one of the mind-controlled (the girl in the cage) who was compelled to dance when hearing music, or maybe a certain kind of music, or something. Hence the appearance of the little reel-to-reel tape player in the cube with the girl. The guy is asking for directions, or trying to find out information of some kind, and the girl is enraptured and does not answer other than to dance.
It was a pretty hokey film, overall, if I recall.
I really should keep some kind of log of the strange, fringe films that I encounter. posted by hippybear at 11:10 PM on January 27, 2010
