Jeez, that was beautiful.

I've got a five-year-old daughter who is the center of my world, and lately it's like I have this heightened awareness of how quickly she's growing up, and how much more I need to savor every day. Stuff like this hits me hard.

Beautiful, and perhaps better understood with a proper translation: "tour de manège" means "carousel ride".
