I don't meet anybody when Blogger and Blog*Spot are down.

Then you'll just have to wait, I suppose...

(Here's the direct link to the movie).

Holy shit! It's been 15 since I've lived in DC, but I knew exactly who the subject of this film would be--he used to hang out at the corner of Clairmont and North Decatur when I lived nearby. I honestly thought it was a catheter bag in his shorts.

What, no Baton Bob?

The first night I was in Atlanta, my new roommate and I were driving around in a convertible (which we had been accidentally given by the rental car shop) looking for apartments. The top was down, the night was hot, and we were blasting German powernoise.

We stopped at a stoplight. I was telling a joke that I'd heard from a Texas soldier that involved a redneck accent. Just when I got to the punchline ("This here's mah wahf Lucy Jean, soonaz ah get home we're gonna git marruhd"), the music stopped. A drunk black man with a cane crossed in front of the car, looked blearily at me, waved, and said "Greetings, ugly crackaz! Welcome to Atlanta!".

I then proceeded to have a wonderful two years.

Decatur, actually.

That should read:

I like how it's called "The Reveal", but it just cuts off with a guy in mid-sentence.

15 years. Crap, I'm outta here.

Bummer of a tumor on his inner thigh.

Oh wait, is that...? oh god. oh god. OH GOD!

You must see Part Two of the documentary.

I believe he mainly hangs around the corner of Ponce and Moreland these days. Someone has actually modified a street sign there in his image.

I see him almost every day as I wait in my car at that godawful intersection of Ponce and Briarcliff.

I don't want to know what's in his pants. I want to remain blissfully ignorant in my naive view that it just must be a whole cauliflower.

Wow, me too!

I met another fiftysomething black man in spandex shorts with a visibly gargantuan penis, this one in Albuquerque, NM. He was less of a local icon and more of a big-weenied dude in line at the coffee shop.

Yep, he's just up the street from where I live, see him all the time. The traffic is terrible at that intersection, no part to Bicycle Pants Man.

Also hailing from Atlanta, he's America's most wanted, Georgia's most hated:

They call me The Zookeeper.

It's really funny that people's responses say more about them than they do about Willy Terry. Dude is a badass. Bulletproof. He's my hero.

When I lived on the corner of Ponce de Leon and Frederica in the 1980s, the craziness stopped at North Highland Ave.

This guy is hanging out on Briarcliff so it seems the borders have moved eastward.

Cool.

Christ, that Zookeeper video is disturbing... Can't we just concentrate on Willy's balls? Willy, the Zoo Keeper and Blondie should ride on a "questionable-street-legend" float @ the Inman Park parade. Although Blondie might be better known for her industrial contributions and demand to keep her marshall status...

My "what about" is "what about Wolf?" He's no longer selling 'zines (remember those quaint printed materials?!) but he's still around I think. I guess he should stop wearing jeans if he really wants some attention!

My friend use to shoot the shit with him while she waited for the bus. One day, instead of his usual get-up he was wearing a suit. When she asked him about the change in attire, he gave her a "you're lucky I'm so nice, other I wouldn't answer such a stupid question" and then said, "I like to keep'em guessing."

on a side note, I've met a lot of people who think he's a prostitute.
