Splendid! I imagined the blocks in sepia tones against a woodcut frame (but maybe that was due to the god-awful floor-to-ceiling paneling in that NES-and-voilin hosting basement).

Starforce! I am always surprised when anyone else remember that game. It was my first space shooter *sniff*

I have to say Super Mario # was the best of all of them.

Excellent. If only my violin teacher had assigned me the Super Mario Bros. or Tetris songs, I would have practiced a lot more.

This whole thing of humans playing game music, programmed music, is very interesting. There's a lot of it going on, and I think it bodes well for the future, in some as yet unexplainable way.

Programmed music ? What an odd way to put it. All composed music is "programmed".

I'd think it would be obvious that my usage of the term here is in reference to music which was never designed or thought of as music to be played by humans, using acoustic instruments such as violins. The term programmed is, in my usage here, not even close to "odd", but is used all the time when discussing game music, drum beats put together (programmed) on a drum machine or computer, or any sort of sequenced music (like, say, techno, house, etc) that is not actually played. It's programmed.
