This sounds a lot like the Rogue Market; the site looks like it is no longer updated. I signed up for that in 1996. (Look at the press they got in the late 90's!)

It seems to me that the economics of this kind of market are rather shaky. With shares, their price is supposed to be the present value of future dividends. With pop stars, where's the eventual payoff?

no - so that if you're interested you can see what shares i bought and how they are doing. Instead of just playing against everyone you can play against friends too.
