My, what a silly waste of time. She's so, like yesterday, man.

I love this and I haven't even watched Mad Men.

PS we are re-watching MM from the beginning over on Fan Fare. It's really hilarious reading her character like this, especially in S1 when she's all over the place manipulating Pete and confounding Peggy.

This is the way I wished TV worked. I've been let down before. The fan theories are always more interesting to me than the actual scripts.

It would certainly explain her penchant for vodka.

Obviously this theory is true and the smartest way for the show to handle it is to never acknowledge it nor admit it to be true.

Shows must have their secrets.

They shouldn't acknowledge it outright; they should give Adam Scott a walk-on as Russ and then we will know.

Aw crap, I read that as "Trudy Beekman"

G-men must have been close; that's why they burned the Annie Edison operation. #darkesttimeline

Yes, most of The Whelk's proposals are not very modest.

ENOUGH!

I would wee myself with uncontrollable glee if the final season of Mad Men turned into a prequel for The Americans.

They should give Adam Scott a walk-on as Russ Beekman and then we'll know. Meh! Meh! Meh!

I stand by my additional theory from the Projects post:

Rock Steady: I also posit [...] that an older Trudy is "Claudia", the handler of Elizabeth and Philip Jennings in the 80s.

This is brilliant.

An American television system without Alison Brie in it really doesn't seem to have any point in going on, and they should shutter the networks and repurpose the bandwidth to give everybody free wifi.

First off I want to thank Elsa is Emily, Toast contributor and Mefi's Own for being instrumental in getting this thing formed - and I want to state for the record this is the logical end result of the long, huge strange mad Men Metafilter discussion threads. I dedicate this essay to you, my fellow obsessive viewers in the trenches.

Also I feel the need to point out at in the Toast comments there is a VERY WELL REASONED ARGUMENT that Don is actually a Fae, unaware of his powers and alternatively seducing and draining people.

At first glance I read "Trudy Wiegel" from Reno 911!. I had wondered, albeit briefly, what The Whelk was smoking.

What of Ars Technica's "Don Draper May Be an Alien" Hypothesis?

Come on, it's not that far-fetched if Matt Weiner is a self-confessed "huge science fiction fan".
