Alfredo Di Stefano RIP

BBC: Real Madrid legend Alfredo Di Stefano, regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, has died. The 88-year-old suffered a heart attack on Saturday and had been in an induced coma in Madrid's Gregorio Maranon hospital. Real Madrid confirmed the news, saying Di Stefano, their honorary president, died at 17:15 CET (16:15 BST). The forward won five straight European Cups, scoring in each final between 1956 and 1960. I never knew he scored in all five of those finals. That's an astonishing achievement.

Here's highlights of the incredible 1960 final, when Real Madrid won 7-3 and Di Stefano scored a hat-trick (while Ferenc Puskas scored the other 4).

Before my time obviously, but I could certainly appreciate his formidable stats whenever he showed up as a 'classic player' available for selection in a video game.

Oops that appears to have been someone who's used a create-a-player mode to recreate him, but he has been available in that series as an unlockable previously.
