I know Rammstein. Rammstein is my friend. You, sir, are not Rammstein. :-)

I... am... confused. It syncs so well with the video but I have difficulty believing they got up on stage and did this. Though I kind of wish they did. Because it's awesome.

The only thing I can think of anytime anyone mentions this song.

I say that Rehfeldt's high point is Heavy Metal Call Me Maybe, which might as well just be a Lacuna Coil song.

This reminds me of the time a group motorcycle dudes on big hogs went by and I realized they were blaring k-pop.

Hilarious re-do. Moves in the opposite direction than your typical Laibach cover -- Laibach being a Rammstein influence. (Compare: an original to its Laibach version.)

I really like his death metal "House of the Rising Sun". And the smooth jazz "Enter Sandman".

The Animals remake is especially pleasing because you can imagine the actual Animals doing it, in a very slightly different world.

I never realized how much I missed Evanescence until I heard this metal version of Katy Perry. I would pay for an album of covers like this with the vocals rerecorded.

Whoa, Charlotte Church's "Silent Night" is good. And by "good" I mean "terrifying."

For similar cover versions, Nouvelle Vague is a band that makes bossanova covers of New Wave songs (and others) with a French New Wave aesthetic, for the love of the puns. See Guns of Brixton or Bela Lugosi's Dead for a couple of examples.
This isn't the first time Rammstein have gotten weird covers, Scala & Kolacny Brothers did the women's choir treatment of Engel some years ago. More Scala & Kolacny Brothers: Nothing Else Matters, Hier Kommt Alex (originally by Die Toten Hosen). Laibach themselves did a remix of Ohne Dich, too.

Sankt-Petersburg Klezmer band Dobranotch performs their version in Yiddish. (Translation by Asya from Lviv!) You really need a banjo and a tuba to get to the soul of Rammstein.

As far as Rammstein covers go, Mambo Kurt has an... interesting take on Engel. He also doe Thunderstruck by AC/DC.

It's not going from dark to light exactly, but I always found the violet mix of Wreath of Barbs by Wumpscut amusing.
