Beware, you might fall down a rabbit hole of repainting dolls

What do you do with a de-faced doll? You could stick on eyes from a magazine and call it a day, or make them look more realistic (multiple links to Poppen Atelier doll make-over videos; Poppen Atelier on Instagram)

I've tried repainting Barbie, but my hands just aren't steady enough. Mad props.

Oh man, I just discovered Poppen's channel a week ago and fell down the rabbit hole HARD. I actually have one of her vids up right now during my pre-bed browsing. Weird!

The new ones are worse than the originals!

These are some sort of amazing but I prefer the original “make-unders.”

“These dolls have been rescued and rehabilitated from op-shops and tip shops around Tasmania."
I understand what she's talking about from the context, and the etymology of "tip shop" is clear, but does anyone know what the "op" in "op-shop" is short for? Idle curiosity.

I am pretty sure op-shop means "opportunity shop" as in "these goods fund opportunities for others who would not have them." Much like Goodwill purports to provide job training for disabled folks funded by donation sales.
