It Gets Funkier

Last September, funk group Vulfpeck [bandcamp, previously on the blue] became one of the (very) few bands to sell out Madison Square Garden without the support of manager or music label.

This was a great show. Vulfpeck earned it. They're one of the few bands that seem able to work the music business and find success while remaining in complete control of their career. And staying funky as fuck all the way through.

For those who enjoy Vulfpeck's sound, check out a band called Newen Afrobeat. They don't sound alike at all, but the vibe is the same.

Oooh, this is good. I think half my funk playlist on Spotify is Vulfpeck, so this really hit the spot.

... ohhhhhhh, the silent album guys. Right. I was just telling someone about that but couldn't remember the name of the band.

Also, Newen Afrobeat are tremendous.

great music. one of my favorite parts was the guided meditation by the Mom at 21:00. The whole audience looked like they were following along.
