If you dig back around the late 40ks, you'll find Stan Chin Designer snowflakes in there somewhere.
They're mostly penises.

I am so addicted. Thank you so much!
I also make crappy snowflakes. They don't sit at the cool table at snowflake school. :(

I must respect this flash. The rotating shadow in the cut preview is a wonderful detail.

Has anyone else tried following their folds to make an actual paper snowflake? I watched it lotsa times to get the folds right, but I guess I'm doing something wrong, cuz mine came out all square....

to make even more intricate designs, try right clicking on the paper triangle and choosing ZOOM IN.

Thomcatflalke-ish
but I guess I'm doing something wrong, cuz mine came out all square.... They don't sit at the cool table at snowflake school. :(
My first one was a smoke ring...Didn't see any tips, except yours crunchland. I found it best to start on one side at the top(mine was on the right). But, not to cut through to the opposite side you started at, and then to cut w/o going over a previous cut. My cut wounded up/down & all around of sorts.
you can't make a bad one
PS this is the cool thread, right.

I tried! I don't think it works, all the folds made things much too thick, and the designs don't line up. I might have missed a step. I had a love-hate relationship with actual paper snowflakes as a kid so this is really quite vindicating, thanks Crunchland!

I like making physically impossible snowflakes - if you cut off the center bit and all of one side, you end up with a snowflake made of six hovering pieces...

The folds do work on paper - here's a step-by-step for comparison.
The flash version is more fun. Although it didn't save mine, for some reason.
