Seb Przd's photos specialising in delightful and mind-bending spherical panoramas and conformal mappings.
These pictures are beautiful. The style is very Escheresque.

No accounting for taste, and all, but I'm still sort of sad that this post has only 2 comments while the NASCAR thread has dozens.
The spiraled images are using the "Droste Effect" Escherization formula, about which much is here. If this animation doesn't make you a little queasy, you have a stout constitution indeed.

Metafilter is renowned for not talking so much about things that they really enjoy just looking at, a form of Warnock's Dilemma. Safe to assume it's appreciated.

I'm kind of disappointed too Wolfdog, but thanks for the additional links, I saw Seb Przd's photos on Flickr Explore, and I wondered how he did those. Good post MetaMonkey!

It is odd there are fewer comments, since people love Escher, and these are so similar. And he explains how he does it, here.

Sadly we live in a culture where "diffeomorphisms" are strange weird things that only mathematicians and/or other weirdos get a kick while the idea of putting a person in a moving wheeled box and driving at unsafe speeds is to be exalted.
