Special Delivery Like a plot out of a movie (or TV show): "You know, my daddy's name was Johnny Johnson," Simmons said, figuring that it was little more than a coincidence. The man paused for a moment and then asked Simmons what his name was. When Simmons told him, he saw tears well up in the man's eyes. "David, is that really you?" the man asked, his voice quivering. Sounds like one of those sappy inspirational spams I get from my mother... half expected it to end with "now make a wish and forward this to 10 people".

Heightening the 'small world' feeling, Winston-Salemn is where my whole extended family lives, and my parents also went to Reynolds High School.

This is one of those stories that reaffirms my faith -- not in anything in particular, but just in the notion that life isn't random. There are too many variables for something like that to have been a coincidence.

Dreama, just keep telling yourself that.

wow, I must turn my membership card as a member of the MeFi Cynic brigade, that one even got me (or maybe I'm just getting soft)

My life sure as hell is random. As hell.

Yeah TJ, you're getting soft...
you're off the case!

I don't think it was that random, considering this guy delivered a couple hundred packages a day. But still, the odds are stacked against it.

This link made me warm and fuzzy inside. I'm now ready to start my day at 1:16.

That's a very warm and fuzzy piece of coincidence you've got there.

Hey, my father's name was John Johnson -- and his father's name was John Johnson. Seriously. Maybe we're ALL related! (cou*morons*gh)

I think it's interesting that both father and son were delivery drivers.
