I went to this site called "Digg", with two g's. Have you heard of it? They have articles and you can vote on which articles go to the top. I would be a "person of colour" (had I been based in the USA) and I would find this rather problematic.

Firstly, I wouldn't want to be classified by my colour - I am a person, end of story. This also assumes that there's only two races, White and Colour, and everyone "of colour" feels the same way about things.

No, most normal asses are actually 0.001 SI ass. The normal usage of "an assload" is similar to the quotidian usage of "calorie" in this respect - really you mean a kiloassload, but to point it out in polite conversation is considered rude and pedantic.

emjaybee, I love reading too, and decry the use of unreadable sans serif fonts, bad type justification, etc... Basically all the stuff that made early WIRED such a headache that I'm still pissed off about it. However, book arts should be appreciated for the art rather than the book aspect. I think in a sense the use of books as an art form is just symbolic rather than functional. Whatever happened to print-on-demand? The idea was supposed to be that you'd go to a bookstore and ask for a book that's not on the shelves, they'd download it and print you the whole book, and you'd walk out with a bound paperback in fifteen minutes. Is that just too much customer service?
