I loved, loved, loved this movie. For all the reasons stated above, but also: It's a movie that likes science and engineering! The first two students Hiro meets at the school are women! One of those women is an engineer and the other is a chemist! (It's a little unclear why both are in the robotics department, but that's okay.) Baymax is a healthcare robot, not a fighting robot! (Though of course, he does learn karate, in an adorable fashion.)

Maybe I am missing something, but with or without day saving time, there is still the same amount of daylight, the only difference is during what hours. Right?

If you're reading popular books then this is probably the books getting checked in but not reshelved in reasonable amounts of time. Keep track of this. There is an answer. It's possible that your library has a mismanaged consortial system (like where you can return a book to "any branch") and the book is shown as available when it's been checked in to one branch and it's not even returned to that branch until days later. This year my son decided at the last minute that, yes, he would go trick or treating after all, but that he would be going as a black hole. Basically, he's going to wear black clothing. All the credit of a costume with none of the effort.

I used to work with Alan. Everyone I know who knows him is flabbergasted. He's a very unassuming guy. Not shy or quiet, he's an appropriately forceful and effective engineering manager, but he's not the kind of jackass aggro man you'd expect to pull off a feat like this. He is very careful though, and driven. Apparently he really kept it a secret from the rank and file he works with, too.

I was once able to provide a similar service... I work for Nike, developing new models of shoes. One "on the side" project I've been lucky enough to do was creating a special shoe for a 10-year-old boy as part of a long-running fundraiser (for the past 10+ years, Nike has worked with kids from the Doernbecher Children's Hospital here in Portland, letting them design custom shoes, actually bringing them into production, then selling and donating all proceeds to the hospital... ~$8... I teach physical anthropology at a large Midwestern university; this (or something analogous) is a situation which I find myself in at least a few times every semester. I'm pretty happy with the job my publisher did with my book.

You write it and supply the images, and then you trust that the artwork, layout and printing are equal to your inspiration.

In my case, the publisher hit it out of the park. Everything is better than I could have imagined or asked for. When people first see it, they think it costs twice what it really does, because it is such a beautiful job of production.
