Yes there is: when the team step onto the pitch at Prenton Park and the PA system strikes up with the theme from The Rockford Files.

You boys should try watching Liverpool come back from 3:0 down in the Champions League final.

Or listen to Jim Nabors sing "Back Home Again In Indiana" before the 500.

Naw, the most stirring musical moment in sports is when I start singing "Take me to the River" as I cast for the first Largemouth Bass of the season!

Most people in the world of sports have never heard the song, which means in no way could it be the most moving in all of sports.

Sounded good, though.

Your favorite moving moment in sports sucks.

It's almost as moving as all the shots of the already-obscenely-weathly owner of the winning horse celebrating in his luxury box. *

* This also applies to the NFL.

What's this about a song and a hat and a parade now?

My most moving moment in sports is the first FSU player busted for an offseason felony. I'm sentimental that way.

Ah, you're all a bunch of wankers.

Here's the way we locals sing it: (With vague julep slur):

"I will sing one song for my old Kentucky Home
'Tis summer, the (whatevers) are gay (Giggle)
mumble mum-ble mum mumble mumble mumble mum
Mumble mum-ble mumble mumble mum.

The mumble mum mumble mumble mumble mum
mum mumble, mum mumble mum mum.
mumble mum-ble mum mumble mumble mumble mum
Mumble mum-ble mumble mumble mum.

WEEP NO MORE MY LADY, OH WEEP NO MORE mumble.
I will sing one song for my Old Kentucky Home,
Mumble Old Kentucky Home, Mum-ble."

Have a nice Derby Day, Y'all.

You have to like the derby. When else would you ever want to order a mint julep?

Ah, yet another superficial, uninteresting, one-link-with-text-taken-from-the-page post from postroad.

Mcable: That's a gross exaggeration, and by gross, I mean "Ew, mint julep."

I had to learn the song in second or third-grade social studies, and for who-knows-what reason the melody popped into my head a couple of weeks ago. I managed to piece together the first verse, but yeah, it all eluded me after that.
