Claudia Rankine writes in Vogue about her conversation with Lizzo on Hope, Justice, and the Election [medium read with fashion photography]

A lovely character profile of a personal and MetaFilter favorite.

My social circles and newsfeeds being what they are, I for one second thought Lizzo was now streaming Fall Guys and I would a thousand percent watch that.

These two women are both treasures. I have this feeling like the article was the very tip of a potentially much deeper iceberg. I would love to hear them talk very candidly. I had the chance to talk with Claudia Rankine when she was teaching in Southern California, and I found her so extremely human and gentle. I haven't picked up her new book, yet, but I'm sure I will. And now I'm listening to Lizzo, which brings me right back to a perfectly-timed 2019 break-up...

Rankine's Citizen: An American Lyric, is perhaps the most engrossing read on race I've ever read. Excited to dive in.

Thanks vocativecase, read this the other day but on mobile Vogue doesn’t tell you who is the author! Really enjoyed this profile.
