Incredible and fun! So much to like.

It's poetic that the US entry appears to be a combination of jester suit, poisonous mushroom, and dangerous animal.

These really are "Wow!" Here's an article with some video, and it turns out NZ PM Jacinda Ardern was a surprise guest model! I really like the overall winner, but all the other ones are great as well. I like that they have a lot of different categories ... so much to see!

Here's a 2022 highlights vid; they really put a lot of effort into the production ... it's not just a "walk on stage, do a twirl, walk off" sort of thing.

Ketchikan, Alaska, the small town where I live, has been doing an annual Wearable show for decades - the next one, in February 2023, will be our 37th.

Even in this comparatively tiny, geographically isolated town in the islands of SE Alaska, the amount of creativity that goes into each show is incredible and they're pretty much acknowledged by everyone to be the highlight of our community's art year.

Friends talk about someday organizing a trip to Wellington, and maybe someday we will. Until then, though, we'll be having fun seeing what our friends and neighbors come up with and/or working through the long rainy winters on our entries. [Confession: I'm using "our" a little generously here. I actually haven't been bold enough to submit a piece, though I did model someone else's piece a couple of shows ago, which was a lot of fun and gave me a whole different perspective on the event.]

Regardless.. If there's an art community near you that has a Wearable tradition, check it out, even if you don't know what to expect or think it sounds like not your cup of tea - you might be really surprised at what you find.

Amazing, thank you so much for posting! Some of these remind me of spectacular "looks" from recent seasons of RuPaul Drag Race, gowns made of zip ties, etc.

These are amazing! I wish there were more photos- I would have loved to see more of the detailing and look at the pieces from all angles.
