For the most part, I enjoyed the last Star Wars trilogy well enough, but whoever wrote this parody is hands down a superior scriptwriter to whoever wrote the trilogy. I mean, the plot is ludicrous but still somehow holds together and the characters actions make sense on their own terms. I'm pleased that they were able to simultaneously critique and homage the original work, all without a trace of the repulsive (and lazy) woman and minority bashing found all over YouTube with respect to the trilogy. And Creepio -- not just here but in the extended Auralnauts universe -- is possibly my cinematic favorite robot of all time.

Even as my interest in Star Wars wanes, I have developed a growing interest in a tiny musical niche: songs about Star Wars that are parodies but are also strongly constructed enough to stand on their own. Auralnauts is a big part of this, as is Bad Lip Reading. I should make a playlist.

I hate Star Wars. It is OK, we don't ever have to talk about it. So, in theory, I was primed to welcome to wave of backlash against the sequel trilogy and side films ... but all these sad sack assholes complaining about women and brown people in their Star Wars just made me sad and angry. I even thought it was overblown until I had a co-worker complain about one of them and he sounded like he was just scrolling twitter and reading random unhinged tweets, but he meant all of it. He literally said it felt like women were taking Star Wars away from him. WHAT and, if I may, HOW.

Anyway, Auralnauts are cool and this video is fun.

Watched it this afternoon whacked on midichlorians (Lando never showed up with the beer) and it's good although bear in mind there are a lot of callbacks to previous episodes. They had less to work with in terms of footage too, since in the earlier ones I thought Creepio and Steve Ben Obi-Wan Larry Kenobi were by far the standout characters.

This is the only format in which I’ve seen ep 2 & 3, and soon to be 8 & 9. I love how all six are top results in a Youtube search for “Star Wars episode n“

This was a delight. I hadn't seen the others either so I had a fun few days watching them all. Thanks for sharing, I'm not sure how I missed these and I'm glad the oversight has been rectified.
