I would call the interviewer first thing tomorrow morning and see about what time you should come in for the interview. If she's just back from vacation, she may need to reschedule, but you'll be the one who was on top of things. If she's available to interview you, cry as much as you can before you shower for the interview. The post-cry feel goods might hold you over until after the interview is over.

Really, my question is whether this is going to be more like $10,000, more like $50,000, or more like $100,000+, just for the elevator.

If you're looking for ballpark figures, it'll be more like $100k+. My church hopes to install one someday in our rental property and we had our architect look into it, but the cost is prohibitive for the time being.

I think the meadowlark lime trip is perfection, with one addition- from Times Square, walk down Broadway to Herald Square at 34th St, so you can see the big Macy's you see on TV every year at Thanksgiving time.

Also something to keep in mind (that I sometimes forget, even living here): if you ever get "stuck" somewhere and want to go somewhere else, you will probably be able to hail a cab. And that's something fun, a ride in a real yellow cab.... [more]

Sending flowers to the bride in the weeks before to the wedding might be nice. Sending flowers to the wedding itself would probably be a waste; I've never heard of that being done here. I don't know that the bride would know what to do with them on her wedding day.

I attended a "male revue" for a friend's birthday, and degrading is the best way to describe it. Hey girl, it's your birthday! Come up on stage so some no-neck orange dude can shake his fringed junk in your face. If you're REALLY lucky, he'll simulate some sexual act on you. All your friends can watch and cheer!

I think the thing you have to ask yourself is, which is more important, the girlfriend or the drink? Once you've decided, set up your life accordingly. Since you're asking my opinion, it seems stupid to alienate your girlfriend over something as minor as a drink. Cut back to 3 a week, save the extra cash and use it to buy her (the treat that makes her heart sing).

You can! Get yourself a nice "man bag" and carry it every day. I carry a purse daily and (knock on wood) I never lose stuff. The people I know who try to balance their things in their pockets are always the ones losing stuff. Plus, your clothes will look nicer without a huge lump of keys in your pockets.

I was a member of a Planet Fitness for a few years, and I never saw the "lunk alarm" go off or heard of anyone being lectured for working out too hard. If anything, I wish they had a "ding dong alarm" for all the people who worked out in groups of 3-4 and stood around watching each other use 1 machine, getting in everybody's way.

To follow up on what TinWhistle said (and, on preview) to ditto Hermitosis), if re-homing the pets through the Humane Society or another animal care facility is the only option, she shouldn't feel bad about it. Easier said than done, I know, but she can't let caring for animals stand in the way of caring for herself.

The thing I'll be interested to see is if the promotion can get off the ground successfully. For all its popularity, Farmville is incredibly buggy and prone to slowdowns. Whenever they release something new, it never works right the first time, if it ever works right at all. Can they handle something this big?

She wasn't teaching them! She was hiding them after springing them from the orphanage! And then (SPOILER ALERT) her aunt and uncle were like, hey, let's adopt them. Why did they have to get all the way to the orphanage before they thought of that???

I live in such an apartment, down a steep set of stairs AND a turn to the left. My queen-sized box spring didn't fit in the door when I moved in- away it went. Everything else came flat-packed from IKEA. I was worried some of their long boxes wouldn't fit when you needed to turn the corner, but it did.
