I'll second the immersion blender. Why, just last week, I was making avocado dip with it, and stopped midway to get some stuck chunks of avocado out. One hand in the blade, the other hand still holding the plugged-in blender, finger on the button. Nothing keeping me safe, no siree! And then I realized, WTF AM I DOING, and put it down.

You are trying to define the rules by examining the rule-breakers. This is a backwards way to go about things. One thing to consider- once you tell someone to save-the-date, that's as good as an invitation. You can't tell someone to "save the date" and then not invite them to the wedding. I saw it a lot on wedding boards, people would send out 200 save-the-dates and then realize they would could only afford 160 guests, or they'd want to scrap the whole wedding and do a destination wedding, or uninvite some friend they had a falling out with. You don't have to send "save-the-dates" to tell people to save-the-date. People either will or won't save the date; there's not much you can do about that. Most people will because they're excited. And then you can send your invites 6-8 weeks in advance.

I saw "In My Life" and it was pretty bizarre. Not the worst thing I've ever seen, but not great. The main thing I remember about it was the lead character (who had Tourette's) going around yelling "fuck suck duck!"

Dried beans take a long, long, LONG time to cook, particularly if you haven't soaked them overnight. I tend not to use them unless I'm doing a slow-cooker recipe that I'll let cook on low for 6-8 hours. For anything I want done quickly, I used canned.

I don't think expecting you to tell them when you're spending money from their accounts is extreme or controlling. They have their way of managing things, and you've gotten to the age where you realize you would rather do things differently. It sounds like you're at a natural point in your life where their access to your daily life should be diminishing. This is generally why most people your age prefer to live in a separate home from their parents.

If this truly was a one-time occurrence, I'd let it pass without doing anything. You should give your friend the benefit of the doubt- he made an easy joke forgetting that it doesn't really make sense for you. You handled it well by responding in kind with a joke, and the subject dropped. To make this one time event into a "betrayal" or something that's "incompatible with (your) notion of friendship" would probably be blowing things out of proportion.

Having his parents host a rehearsal or pre-wedding family dinner sounds like a nice idea. As for your Mom, she is paying for what she wants to pay for. If she's mad about paying for something she offered to pay for, that's not your fault, your fiance's fault, or his parent's fault. She can resent anyone she likes, but you don't have to accept personal responsibility for her resentment.

He's made it clear again and again that he does not want your feedback, so I think it's up to you to figure out whether or not this is a deal-breaker. There are worse things in life to be than poorly dressed. I had a boyfriend like that once; for whatever reason, he liked his old ratty clothes and had no interest in being made over. I think jayder's e-mail is perfect. He needs to hear/read words from you that make it very clear that you are not interested in him romantically, and feel his physical advance was inappropriate. If he can't respect that once you've put it plainly, then you go to HR.
