While I 100% understand why people don't like South Park, and while I do believe its influence is undeniable, I still like it. While Parker, Stone, et al. are by no means immune to being flat-out wrong about a whole bunch of stuff, there is usually a LOT of nuance in there that people on both sides of the argument (that is, the people arguing and the people they're arguing about) either refuse to acknowledge or are unable to see.

Ultimately, this separation is between the two people separating, and sharing the burden of it with their children is rude and irresponsible. From that perspective, I see the father's position of distance and rationality on the subject (assuming he's not bringing it up, just responding to inquiries) to be the appropriate one, and the mother's position of gushing details no kid wants to know to be highly inappropriate.

I think my favorite bit is the part where he wakes up from his blackout, is basically blind and hurtling through the sky, and he immediately begins a measured assessment of his situation and figures out what he should do next in order to not die.

Most days, it's a good 2 minutes after I wake up before I figure out how to turn off my alarm clock.

Nemesis is about enslaved captives trapped inside a planet who somehow build themselves a Galaxy-class starship outfitted with next-generation ordnance. After that, literally nothing about Star Trek can bother me. As far as I'm concerned Insurrection is a paragon of logic and continuity.

I did like it better when it starred Paul Sorvino and was shorter.

It pains me that I do have to stop and think which one was Insurrection and which one was Nemesis. I never have to do that with any of the TOS movies, alas. This is cut from the 20 minute video The ABCs of Sex Education for Trainables (as in, trainable mentally disabled children).
