He has raised taxes and introduced gun laws while in office.

This is because we live 'downunder' and politics is reversed here.

You really don't have to go far to see total poverty. You don't even need a passport. Simply become a cable guy in any city in the US. I have seen the poorest of the poor ordering the biggest cable package with little or no furniture in the house. There are places that literally look like Baghdad all over the US.

One of my co-workers was having no end of problems trying to get a new install of an operating system on a laptop. I suggested that he use my Ubuntu live CD to go in and format the drive so that he could start from scratch.

On a whim, he actually installed Ubuntu. It is apparently good enough that he is no longer going to even bother installing the original system.

Okay, so I figured out a compromise! Yay! In the end I did decide to let the cat go. And upon reflection I realized that I didn't have to go to Walgreens in the rain for a Duraflame, since there are like a zillion pesky little squirrels in my neighborhood! Takes more of them to warm up a room, but whatever. While it's a little extra effort, at least I know I'm not upsetting people this way. Woo hoo!
